Case 2712 ยท Public preview
A Finished MLCC Package Can Lack Its Internal Electrode Stack
Mounted capacitors produced unstable or abnormal in-circuit capacitance behavior without visible external or solder-joint damage.

What the evidence preview establishes
Microsections of three suspect capacitors contained no internal electrode plates. The most plausible manufacturing scenario was an electrode-free region of ceramic tape proceeding through singulation and termination, followed by inadequate final electrical screening.
Why this case matters
External appearance and successful termination do not guarantee that the functional internal structure exists. Cross-section evidence and lot-level electrical screening are essential when a manufacturing omission can pass through downstream processes.
