Packaging Voids
Potting Void Under LED
A large internal potting void under an LED location, useful for showing when a visible void may be contributory without being the whole failure story.
Interpretation
Why this image matters
This image illustrates a packaging void that may matter through changed local thermal or support conditions rather than through a direct electrical fault mechanism.
The report did not treat the void as a stand-alone root cause, but it did identify a systemic large potting void under LED1 and noted thermally degraded yellowed potting around the same location in another sample.
That makes it a good reference image for the more realistic question: when should a visible internal void be considered contributory, and what companion evidence is still needed before calling it causal?
